Endpoints
Section titled “Endpoints”Requests go to the OWLGraph API at https://api.owlgraph.ai, with your database’s id in the path:
| Method | Route | Purpose |
|---|---|---|
| POST | /api/v1/databases/:id/query | Queries |
| POST | /api/v1/databases/:id/mutate | Mutations |
| POST | /api/v1/databases/:id/graphql | GraphQL |
| POST | /api/v1/databases/:id/alter | Alter requests |
| POST | /api/v1/databases/:id/ontology | Ontology upload |
Authentication
Section titled “Authentication”Requests are authenticated with an API key passed in the X-OWLGraph-Key header:
curl -X POST https://api.owlgraph.ai/api/v1/databases/{database-id}/query \ -H "X-OWLGraph-Key: your-api-key" \ -H "Content-Type: application/dql" \ -d '{ q(func: type(Animal)) { name } }'Generate API keys from Dashboard > Settings > API Keys.
Example
Section titled “Example”export OWLGRAPH_URL="https://api.owlgraph.ai/api/v1/databases/{database-id}"export OWLGRAPH_KEY="your-api-key"
curl -X POST "$OWLGRAPH_URL/query" \ -H "X-OWLGraph-Key: $OWLGRAPH_KEY" \ -H "Content-Type: application/dql" \ -d '{ q(func: type(Animal)) { name dgraph.type } }'OWLGraph also exposes an MCP (Model Context Protocol) endpoint at POST https://api.owlgraph.ai/mcp. It is not under /api/v1. Add it as a server entry in an MCP-capable client such as Claude Desktop. An API key is required for tool calls, passed in the X-OWLGraph-Key header as for the routes above; generate keys from Dashboard > Settings > API Keys.
